REGISTRATION INCLUDES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE POLICIES
If PilgrimQuests must cancel a pilgrimage for any reason, we will do our best to reschedule it in 6-12 months. All reservations will be retained and the refund policy applies.
Reservations are transferrable for all pilgrimages provided the new traveller has the required travel documents.
International travel rules are still very fluid but are expected to stabilize and become less of a burden to the traveller over the rest of the year, 2021. Nevertheless, for the safety of all of our pilgrims, we expect everyone to have been vaccinated at least two weeks prior to leaving the United States. We will follow whatever rules are in place either nationally or locally and pass along costs to our pilgrims. We will do our best to give as much advance notice as possible of new requirements.
PilgrimQuests requires that travelers purchase travel insurance that includes medical evacuation coverage. Most travel insurance packages do include this feature, though the amount of coverage will vary. Check with your medical insurance provider to see if you already have this coverage.
Regarding cancellation coverage, most insurance policies include cancellation for unpredictable events such as a death in your immediate family or civil unrest in the destination country. The Covid 19 pandemic is now a predictable event. Keep in mind that if you do wish to purchase cancellation insurance, you usually must do so soon (21 days +/-) after you settle on you departure and return dates; i.e, when you purchase your plane ticket. Here is an excellent website for travel insurance that can help you find the right policy.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS
Both of the currently schedule pilgrimages require significant walking most days. Some paths will be rocky, so good hiking shoes or boots will be necessary. Walking sticks are often helpful. If you can only walk with crutches or a walker, your participation will be limited, but the Iona pilgrimage might be possible. We regret that people needing a wheelchair at all times cannot be easily accommodated on these pilgrimages. Nevertheless, call PilgrimQuests for more details on how a wheelchair could be accommodated.
